SAN JOSE, CALIF– Deanna Bennett, also known as “Vitamin D” is a 36 year old woman Bellator Champion with a whopping 11 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw with her most recent fight that she fought and won on Sept. 19, 2021 at the SAP center in San Jose, Calif. Before her career in boxing, she was an EMT and worked in the ER trauma center.
She started Wrestling in High School at Red Mountain High school in Mesa, Ariz. and kickboxing in college at Mesa Community college at a gym to stay in shape. She loved it. Eventually she started doing jiu jitsu and slowly combined the two sports (kickboxing and jiu jitsu) together. A Silver Creek student said, “Wow, she’s strong and is a bit intimidating.”
Her friend, one of the coaches at the gym, signed her up for an MMA fight and she said, “Once I got in the cage, I knew that this was what I wanted to do.” Bennett loves her job of fighting and is really passionate about what she is doing because she says, “It tests your mind, skill and basically every bit of you. I like testing myself.” Before each fight Bennet says, “I feel nervous before fights honestly. My whole life and heart goes into fighting and I want to do well so badly.”
After the most recent fight on Sept. 19, 2021, she said,“After this fight I am so incredibly happy. My dream has been to fight in San Jose at the SAP center and I finally got to do it, with my hand being raised at the end! Some fights don’t go your way and that’s tough to deal with, but remembering why I fight, and how I get to live the life I love makes it better.”
