SAN JOSE, CALIF.⸺ Multi-sport athlete Trajan Sinatra gives insight on the background of his passion for sports, along with his future plans post-graduation.
Being introduced to the sports world at the young age of three years old, Sinatra first began playing soccer up until he was 14 years old as a midfielder and striker. In total, Sinatra has participated in five sports: soccer, baseball (pitcher and first base), basketball (shooting guard), football (quarterback and kicker), and track and field (sprinter).

Sinatra shared that he wouldn’t be as interested in sports without the influence of his sports-loving family. His father had a great impact on his large involvement in athletics growing up, introducing him to every sport he’s played, besides soccer. “Football has been a part of my family for generations,” the senior shared. As of his high school career at Silver Creek High School, Sinatra has played football all four years and began playing basketball, baseball, and track and field his sophomore year. Over the past few years, he has worked toward his title of being a 4.5 Star Kicker.
Dabbling in such various sports, Sinatra revealed in his interview that time management is the most difficult challenge he’s learned to overcome in the past four years. Not having an off-season, balancing his life becomes difficult to manage, as he continuously works out and has two to three-hour sports practices six days a week.
His motivation is his enjoyment and passion for the sports, “They’re all fun to me, so it’s not something I don’t wanna do. I relieve stress through having fun, like when I have friends playing the same sports, especially track,” Sinatra added.

To hype himself up before games, Sinatra listens to music to get him in his zone, often listening to rap and R&B. During football season, his favorite song to play was “Run this Town” by Rihanna. Sinatra shared that one of his core memories in his athletic career is this last season when the Raiders won their fourth game against Piedmont Hills High School at the last minute, off of a pitch to teammate Dominic Lim, Silver Creek’s running back and linebacker. “That win felt really good. It holds one of the biggest places in my heart,” Sinatra expresses.
If he could play one more sport for the rest of his life, it would be basketball. He explained that he enjoys how action-packed it is, making it an ongoing game. The sport holds a lot of memories for Sinatra and is one that he has enjoyed since elementary school, as well.

Sinatra’s post-graduation game plans include attending Foothill College for one year then transferring to a four-year university to pursue football as a D1 player. With his impact on Silver Creek’s athletics, Sinatra feels sad to leave but excited for what is to come in his future. Before Sinatra graduates, his leaving piece of advice for underclassmen is, “At least try it [sports], because it can change your whole high school experience and the people you meet.”
