Don’t pass up on this opportunity, students at Silver Creek high school can now make up for unexcused absences and have access to tutoring.

With the new implementation of the Saturday Learning Lounge, students now have the chance to access support in navigating through their important four years of high school. This newly granted program offers the option to make up any unexcused absences you or your student may have and seek tutoring for topics that they may be currently struggling with. 

Approximately two sessions will be held per month, one of them additionally offering academic assistance. Specific times, dates, and locations on campus will be posted in advance for students to be aware of. These sessions can vary with scheduling, so it is important to keep an eye out. Reaching out to your counselor, the attendance office, or checking in with ASB can significantly help with planning to attend a session. 

Oftentimes, the timing of each one will be in the morning announcements during school beforehand. It is important to keep in touch with people on campus to ensure your spot at Saturday school. 

When you initially arrive at the session, you will sign in accordingly with your name, your school ID, and the date of the absence you want to make up. After you have made up the hours, your attendance will be updated and you will no longer obtain the old absence.

In high school, it is extremely common for students to fall victim to high demands. The challenge of keeping up with academics, family, social life, extra curricular activities, and the possibility of work, sometimes can interfere with a student’s attendance and quality of schoolwork they produce. Due to the personal circumstances of each student, it can be very easy to fall behind in classes unintentionally.
