Nonfire Unplugged

Nonfire Kicks off with the theme “Games Unplugged. Play at your own risk”. This year’s Nonfire was held on Nov. 1.

The winners for Nonfire were the juniors in first place, sophomores in second, seniors in third, and freshman in fourth. There was a spirit week leading up to Nonfire. Monday was Anything But a Backpack Day where students brought buckets, strollers or unusual bags instead of their backpack. Tuesday was Granny’s House Rules in which upperclassmen dressed as elders and underclassmen dressed as babies. Wednesday was Little Big Dreams where students dressed as what they wanted to be growing up. Thursday was Freddy’s Frights in which students wore their spookiest pajamas. Then on Friday, students wore their class colors, class shirts or Halloween costumes. 

On Halloween , there was a Nonfire lunch rally. During this rally, there was a costume contest held by the City Peace Project. Classes participated in their class chants as well as games.

Nonfire opened on Saturday with food trucks at 4:30 p.m. Chubby’s Chicken had some chicken,  sandwiches and tenders,. 3 Brothers kitchen had birria tacos. and Akita Sushi had sushi rolls. For dessert, they had Churros El Guerro, which had classic churros and churros with vanilla and strawberry. Lastly, they had Tea Up with various different boba. 

The rest of the event started at 5:30 p.m. The bleachers were sectioned off with the classes which had themes. Freshmen were the game Hello Neighbor, sophomores were Granny, juniors wereLittle Nightmares, and seniors were Five Nights of Freddy”. 

The event started with performances from the dance and leadership class. 

The freshman performed their skit and dance then played tug of war after. The sophomore class then performed their skit and dance then played Raider Surf before the juniors went. The first place for Raider Surf was seniors, then sophomores, juniors and freshman. Then the Juniors went on and played the last round of tug of war which the freshman and juniors battled for third place. Then the Juniors went on and. They played the last round of tug of war which the freshman and juniors battled for third place.  

The last performance of the night was the seniors whose performance ended with releasing balloons.
