SAN JOSE, CALIF- Boys and girls basketball look to make a strong impact for the 2025-2026 season for both varsity and junior varsity.
Boys and Girls basketball are looking for players to join the raider crew this season. The Raiders and Lady Raiders basketball teams have constantly trained hard in the weight room and gym during these past few weeks to get stronger, and improve physically and mentally for this upcoming season.
Conditioning days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6 p.m. in the weight room. Tryouts are Nov. 3 in the gym for boys basketball. Senior Ben Pham is entering his fourth year of playing and his second year on the varsity team. Junior’s Troy Yap, Seth Nicer, Landon Rosa, Ayden Nguyen, and Kevin Huynh made a strong impact for the Raider’s junior varsity squad and are ready to create that same impact in varsity this year. Last year’s Sophomore of the Year Braylon De Guzman and Freshman of the Year Mason Seto are coming back to the Silver Creek Varsity squad with something to prove this year. Our boys basketball teams will be coached by Coach Darren Sumida, Eric Mai, James Caricungan, and Elvis Torres.
Tryouts are Nov. 3-7 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the gym for girls basketball. Senior Kassidy Untalan is ready for her fourth year on the Lady Raiders varsity squad. As well as Jasmine Tupinio entering her third year playing on varsity. Junior Amira Dyer looks to make a difference for her team this upcoming season. Sophomore twins Cassie and Bella Garcia and Mea Aguilar were all freshmen on varsity last year and they are looking forward to improving and helping lead their team to the Central Coast Section Playoffs this year. The varsity team last year ended with second place in their division last year with a league record of 6-4. The girls basketball coaches this year will be led by Coach Kenny Olden and Coach B.
