SAN JOSE, CALIF.-Every October, the halls fill up with costumes that are spooky, funny or from pop culture. This year is no different. Students are already planning their looks and trends to show a mix of classics and new ideas.

But there’s something extra special about this Halloween since it lands on a Friday making excitement around Silver Creek high school higher than ever. With no school the next day, students are more rallied and ready to celebrate. They are planning to make the most of the night with creative costumes and group plans.
Some students are expected to go with scary favorites like witches, vampires and zombies. Others might choose characters from movies, TV shows or even video games. There will also be creative costumes pulled straight from TikTok and internet trends. Whether it’s a look inspired by the latest viral meme or a classic monster, costume creativity is at an all time high
Many friends are joining forces for coordinated looks, while others are putting their own spin on last minute creations. Some students mentioned shopping at thrift stores to find the perfect piece, or spending hours creating accessories that make their costume stand out.
No matter what, Halloween at Silver Creek is always about showing personality and having fun. From group costumes with friends to last minute DIY ideas, it’s clear the costumes this year will be just as memorable as ever, especially with the whole school ready to celebrate a Friday night Halloween!
