SAN JOSE, CALIF— “Final Destination” is a very popular horror movie franchise by Warner Bros. About the fact that death is inescapable. I will be reviewing their newest movie, “Bloodlines”

“Bloodlines” is generally about what happens when you manage to survive death when you’re not supposed to. At the start of the movie, the main character, Stefani Reyes, has a recurring nightmare that is ruining her college life due to lack of sleep. She then later figures out that it wasn’t just a nightmare, it was her grandma’s premonition that managed to save many people’s lives back in 1969. 

One thing I like is that even though this is the newest movie, Reye’s grandma’s premonition is the first premonition in the timeline. Her grandma explains to her that her premonition predicted the skyview tower collapsing, so she quickly fixed every little thing that led up to that and saved a lot of people. Death didn’t like that she got in the way of his plans and later killed off everyone that wasn’t meant to survive. And now, Death was after her and her family because she wasn’t meant to live long enough to have a family. 

It was so refreshing to see a change of relationships, the other movies focus on friends and love lives, but this one gets into family and the bond that they all share. Reyes didn’t believe her until death took her grandma right in front of her, she looked into it more and eventually informed her family. She stated that death was coming after them because they weren’t supposed to exist. 

However, they didn’t believe her which made me mad at first. They only started to believe her after they lost another family member. 

Scared to lose another, they visit a man that may know how to cheat death, although it’s almost never been done. They had to kill the next victim and then resuscitate them back to life. Another thing I like is the suspense of some scenes, where you think a certain character is gonna die but they end up living.
