Jose Solís Providing The Community

By Ciana Ciulla

SAN JOSE, CALIF- Jose Solís is benefiting students during his first year as Associate Principal of Tiered Student Supports at Silver Creek High School.

Solís defined his position for the 2025-26 school year by saying, “I do whatever I can so that all students get the right support they need under me or my department or supervision.” Solís oversees the Multi Tier System of Support, Wellness Center and Social Workers. Regarding 504 case managers, he quotes “Some of our students may not have an IEP or may not be special ed, but they have certain needs.” He also oversees The Care Team, where they have referrals and look at different accommodations that students have. Through this, they are able to appoint a person to look into it and see how they can best support the student. Solís is beyond passionate about helping the English Learners on campus, saying “One of my goals is to really support and promote and get as many students reclassified as possible every year.” When asked what he wanted students to know about him most, Solís said “There’s this one wrestler that I follow, and he wants his legacy to be the best in the world. For me, I would say I want to be the best educator for the world.”
