President Ahmend Abbasi and vice president Mariam Anttanious will be representing the Class of 2029, oversee events, help communication between administration for the student body and most importantly, bring on the school spirit! Secretary Han Nguyen will be responsible for arranging meetings and official records. While Treasurer Kaeleigh Le handles the finance, Spirit Leader, Rizqin Jahn, promotes a positive and peer boosting environment.
All class officers are qualified for their roles because they all have communication skills, organization and many have experience in being leaders. The office council works fluently, teamwork blossoming into fruition.
“We plan to create an environment of 2029 students that show school spirit,” Abbasi said, “Our goal for the future school year is to have more engaging events.” These events include: noontime activities, fundraisers and activities for each class year. During lunch, they plan on doing small games to keep everyone engaged. For fundraisers, they plan on getting foods like Crumbl Cookie, Taco Bell and Yogurt Land to sell to students.
A large point of tension that the officers face is the negative reputation of the high school. The officers want to have more students engaged in school spirit to prove to others we aren’t the stereotyped ‘ghetto’ school that we’ve been named.
It’s not just Silver Creek’s reputation and school spirit that the officers wish to focus on. They want to know the voices and opinions of Raiders. They want to know what aspects of the school needs improvement and what seems to be doing good. In order to do so, they’ll be attending various events and listening in on the feedback. They’ll see if the event needs improvement, what the Raiders liked about the event and what they should continue implementing into the future.
All our officers truly care about the voices all around campus, wanting to make sure everyone’s voices are heard and are considered. Currently, they’ve already done the welcome back rally and a few games in the X-quad. They plan on facilitating more class events in the future such as Nonfire, F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.S and Creekchella.
