SAN JOSE, CALIF.—Abhi Arora recently joined Silver Creek High School as a teacher, bringing more than five years of experience after beginning his teaching career 6 years ago.
Originally, Abhi Arora planned to become a lawyer, drawn because of its structure and emphasis on argumentation. Over time however, his passion for learning and helping others led him down a different path. “I’ve always loved learning,” he says.
Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, traveling and exploring new technology. Often spending his weekends on local mountain trails.
In the classroom his teaching style is hands-on and adaptive, focusing on meeting students where they are and adjusting to help them succeed.“I really do believe that there is a beauty to minimalism done well and a clean space is a clean mind, it helps you focus,” he says. Arora emphasizes patience and recognizes that students learn at different paces. “If you learn how to learn, you’ll be invincible,” he says. His advice for students is to find meaning in a process and embrace the journey even when it’s hard.
