Friends and Leaders of ‘27

SAN JOSE CALIF.—Get to know the Class of 2027 Class Officers at Silver Creek High School.

This year’s junior officers include President Jessica Van, Vice President Kelly Ha, Treasurer Jyacinthe Reyes, Secretary Jonah Price and Spirit Leader Jonathan Tran. They help to keep the school running and make changes that will benefit all our students, staff, and community.

While most of the other officers have some experience before becoming leaders, Spirit Leader Tran had no prior leadership experience. He explains that he only got involved with it in his freshman year after finding out that the spirit leader from his year would not be running again, convincing him to take the opportunity to fulfill that role.

Since then, he and the rest of the officers have been doing their part and paving the path for others. Reyes says her experience in ASB is, “a big commitment, stressful during events, but it’s great for building communities.”

The officers also share a common goal to win the Events as well as to grow closer. President Van says, “Be more involved in school activities; you’re here for a good time, not a long time.”

Many of the 2027 officers enjoy playing video games and watching TV. Some, Like Ha and Reyes, listen to K-pop and play sports like dance and tennis

In addition to her obligations as treasurer, Reyes is the officer of the choreography club. Feel free to come to her with questions, comments or  concerns about the club.

Price says, “When I first joined, it was really hard and I didn’t have a lot of friends and I feel like it gets a lot easier when you grow closer with your Class Office.” He also encourages people to join them and do the same! Over all, our junior officers seem to have had that same experience and speak on “ups and downs” and the role being a big commitment, but worth it! Ha also says it “teaches you a lot of lessons,” but in the same breath describes the class as “stressful.” So in a nutshell, the officers see the class as challenging, but wouldn’t give it up either. Tran had one more thing to say to the Raiders: “Don’t drink Celcius; it gives you heart palpitations.”
