Fun Outside Ideas for Spring Break

SAN JOSE, CALIF.— With Spring Break officially starting the week of April 20, here are some productive activities for Silver Creek students to do during break.

Instead of staying at home and being on your phone all day, go out with your friends and family and maybe do one of these ideas I recommended.

Rock Climbing! / Kenneth Phan

Something I plan to do for spring break is to go indoor rock climbing. I think rock climbing is a very fun activity for spring break as you get to do something very enjoyable while working out your muscles as well! Rock climbing has been getting more popular recently as well! If you drive to Santa Clara, there is a place called Movement that gives you half off the original price if it’s your first time rock climbing. So, try out rock climbing during your break.

“People should rock climb as it is a good exercise and helps time pass by,” says Kyle Bui, an experienced rock climber who’s a senior at Silver Creek.

With the spring heat setting in, there are many places you can go to and have fun! With the warm weather approaching, you can go to the beach and walk around in the sand with your friends or partner. You can play beach volleyball or go swim in the ocean.

Another outside activity that you can do is go hiking. Hiking is a great way to immerse yourself in nature and just relax after this long school year. You could do a road trip to the beach or to a hiking trail as well! A road trip with your friends or family is a great way to strengthen your bond with them.

Camping is an enjoyable activity for spring break as well. Taking a road trip to Yosemite National Park is a great place to relax and have fun. It has beautiful scenery and a bunch of trails to go hiking as well. You can go there to take pictures or just simply enjoy the wildlife that Yosemite has to offer.

A place that I am going to go during this spring break and I think you should too is Monterey, CA. Monterey, like I previously mentioned, has beautiful beaches and scenery to go admire. It is a one hour drive away from where we are and I definitely think it is worth the drive. Monterey also has a stunning aquarium for you to go see as well, with their most popular attraction being the jellyfishes.

I hope you can take these recommendations into consideration while you are on spring break!
