SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Saxton Sinatra, a football varsity player, tells us how he started, and tips on how to start playing football.
Sinatra is a freshman that goes to Silver Creek High School and has already participated in three sporting programs. Soccer, baseball, and football. Sinatra has been playing sports since his early years following his family’s passion for sports.
Sinatra says, “I’ve always wanted to follow along with my whole family doing sports. Being good at sports eventually became fun for me.”

His motivation for doing sports was that Sinatra was overall wanting to keep his family’s passion with him. Also, him being naturally talented at sports already gave him a good push to keep going.
Sinatra gave a meaningful quote to give motivation to others when he said, “If people your age are doing it, why can’t you. No one’s different from anyone else, it’s just the person who actually puts work in.”
Sinatra’s advice is a good reminder that no one is actually better than others. It’s all about the ones who put in effort and are consistent at what they are trying to accomplish. If people your age are in sports, it means that it’s possible for you as well.
People who haven’t started may be afraid, but once you overcome that first step you will know that with a mindset of persevering until success will allow you to get just as good as anyone else.
Another quote that Sinatra gives to people who may have stress during or before games is, “Act like you’re at practice and it’s just another rep. Knowing that you have the ability to do something is also a way to eliminate stress. Over time that stress will fade but in the beginning, knowing your ability is the best way to eliminate stress.”
In other words it means that if you treat games like practice, it can help you calm your nerves. When you believe in yourself and know that you have that talent, it can take away some of that pressure. Over time you will slowly start to overcome any sort of fear.
