SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Matthew Orozco Alcaraz, was an outstanding performer on the soccer field at Silver Creek High School.

Orozco, a junior on varsity soccer at Silver Creek High School, has loved the sport since he was a child. “I started playing when I was 5 because I saw my older brother’s plays, and it looked fun,” Orozco said. “I joined my first team at six,  my favorite player is Messi, it is my dream to play professional soccer one day.”

Right now, Orozco plays as a right winger for the Silver Creek High School soccer team. As a member of the varsity team, he is always working hard and pushing himself to get better and higher each day. Orozco looks up to Lionel Messi, a sports player that many dream to become, he very much wants to be like him some day. 

Like many young athletes, Orozco dreams of being a professional soccer player one day. He puts his heart into everything, proving his commitment and dedication to making that dream come true and giving his best and doing what it takes to get there.

Orozco is one of the people who really invests and owns their sport, and being fully committed to both the game and his personal life is one core strength of his. In his freetime, he puts just as much effort into taking care of himself as he does on the field. Whether he’s resting to ensure he rested enough and prepared for every match or just eating right to have all the energy, he takes it super seriously. 

He also focuses on making sure he recovers fully. He’s that person that cares not just about the game but also about making sure that his body is as perfectly as he can for the next performance as well. He loves spending quality time with his family who are very important to him. When he’s not training or competing, you can find him playing soccer with his cousins just for fun. His love for the sport, both on and off the field, keeps him motivated to improve and grow as a player.

Orozco’s soccer journey is only just getting started, but his hard work, commitment, passion, dedication, and power will make him successful and also make him a standout player at Silver Creek. He has big goals and never loses sight of improving and learning new things. He is determined to build a successful career in soccer. Hopefully Orozco continues to be a hardworking player and improves and continues for the rest of his journey, Orozco has a bright future ahead.
