The song is only two minutes and ten seconds long. The song repeats the question, “Do you wanna, do you wanna be?” The song’s lyrics can be interpreted as talking about being happy even when life gets difficult, according to Genius.com.
“‘Intro’ was a much calmer listen than I thought it would be, but it was a great song,” says freshman Vivian Pham.
“No Role Modelz” is also a notable song in “2014 Forest Hills Drive (10 Year Anniversary Edition)” as it is one of the most popular tracks with a total of 6.3 million pages views, according to Genius.com. In the chorus the song repeats, “Don’t save her, she don’t want to be saved.” It can be interpreted as J. Cole telling his audience to not spend all their energy on people who do not want to be helped and focus on real love instead, according to VIBE.com.
