San Jose CALIF- Silver Creek’s boys’ volleyball team played against Del Mar in a really exciting game. They tried their best and played hard, but ultimately, they lost. Even though they didn’t win, they still put up a good fight and worked together as a team.
At the start of the game, Silver Creek played strong. Their setter, Stanley Ngo, did a great job passing the ball to his teammates so they could hit it. The other setters, Kha Nguyen, Colin Thai, and Vincent, also helped out and made sure the team kept playing well.
On defense, the team’s libero, Brooklee Tran, did an awesome job saving the ball and keeping it in play. Daniel Ho, the backup libero, also helped when he got the chance and made some good saves. Tran said,”it was a hard first pre-season game that challenged us a lot,it helped us build our chemistry and learn what we all needed as a team”. This goes to show that even if they lost they can have a great learning experience. To also add, Del Mar is A league, and they did well against them.

For scoring points, Keith Bacatat and Derek Nguyen, the outside hitters, hit the ball really hard and tried to get past Del Mar’s defense. Jason Too and Ethan, the middle blockers, were also super important because they blocked shots and helped score points, too. We also had our two freshmen, Anderson Ho and Booden Miller as our oppo. Miller did a great job on spiking that ball where it was needed. As Ho he was on bench due to academic probation but he will be playing in the game against EVH.
Silver Creek played with a lot of energy and didn’t give up. They kept each set close and made Del Mar work hard for their points. Ho said, “Even though I didn’t play, I saw my team not give up on us and brought up the energy.” But in the end, Del Mar was able to win the game by just a little bit.
Even though Silver Creek lost, they did really well. They showed that they are a good team and that they can keep getting better. If they keep practicing and working together, they will have a better chance of winning their next games. This was only one game, and also, it was pre-season. Silver Creek is going to improve and come back better
