SAN JOSE CALIF. — Chick-fil-A hatches another location on Silver Creek Road, making another dining option available to people of Silver Creek High School.

Many people in the San Jose community, especially Silver Creek High School students, have been spreading the word about the new Chick-fil-A opening. The anticipation of the opening has been building since last year, the wait is now over since this Chick-fil-A finally opened to serve customers.

Chick-fil-A is most known for their chicken-based menu, as well as their signature Chick-fil-A sauce, that includes honey mustard, mayonnaise, and lemon. This franchise has expanded throughout the U.S. alongside some locations in Canada.

Additionally, they are known for having a positive attitude and making sure their customers are pleased with their service. Chick-fil-A has their own unique spin on usual menu items, seasonal items and has cultivated a signature brand with their unique waffle fries and their sauce. However, they also have a variety of different sauce options.

Even though Chick-fil-A is busy itself, this location specifically is popular because of its proximity to a busy Target plaza and Silver Creek High School. It is the newest addition to local hang and dine-out spots for students, alongside places like Tea Society or Icey Poki. This makes it convenient for workers to get something to eat for their lunch break, as well as students to grab a quick morning or after-school snack.

“Every food place around the area got old, and we now have a close Chick-Fil-A,”  Elysia Noreiga says. The senior’s favorite item from the menu, according to her, is their chicken nuggets.

As soon as it opened, many Silver Creek students have been walking around campus with Chick-fil-A bags and their drink in hand.

Chick-fil-A has healthier options for people who would like a more clean meal or people who are dieting, but still want fast food. They offer different alternatives such as variations of salads, grilled chicken sandwiches and nuggets.

Lauren Solorio, a junior from Silver Creek, currently works at Chick-fil-A as a front of house team member. She works different parts of the restaurant like making drive thru drinks, preparing dessert, and bagging orders.

“I think Chick-fil-A is popular because of its reputation. Chick-fil-A has something called the Core 4 that every Chick-fil-A employee has to adapt to which is always having a positive attitude, having eye contact with the guests, smiling at guests when we assist them and always saying “my pleasure.”

Solorio adds: “Chick-fil-A tries to be one of the city’s most caring fast food restaurants because Chick-fil-A teaches genuine hospitality to its employees by having a strategy called the winning heart everyday strategy. It has four focus areas which is: genuine hospitality, fast and accurate service, great food, and a clean and safe environment.”

Emphasizing it’s important because it allows employees to create connections with the guests beyond the regular “what can I get you for today” and that’s another part of the reason why Chick-fil- A is a well known fast food chain.
