SAN JOSE, CALIF.— Former Raider Review staff members of Silver Creek were asked about what they are doing now after they graduated.

Abigail Cordobes was a member of Raider Review for two years during 2021-2023. During junior year in Silver Creek and first year in Raider Review, she was an assistant to the former editor-in-chief, who was also her mentor. During her senior year, she was editor-in-chief and led the Raider Review staff that year.

Being-editor in-chief, Cordobes always thought that the job was tough, as she felt responsible for helping everyone learn and appreciate something she is passionate about, journalism. But overall, she loved being in the Raider Review. She met a few of her closest friends there and some of her favorite memories in high school were made there.

Cordobes is now 19-years-old and a member of PRSSA at CSUF or California State University Fullerton. PRSSA or Public Relations Student Society of America is a student-run organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Cordobes is a communications major with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in women and gender studies.

“I’m thinking and exploring what I truly want to do for the rest of my life,” says Cordobes. “For now the plan is to have fun and be happy.”

Dhilan Mistry was a member of Raider Review for one year as a staff writer and a part of the social media team with his friends and former classmates. He was a member in his senior year through 2023-2024.

Mistry is now 18 years old attending Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, California. He is currently looking into obtaining and adding a marketing minor for his business portfolio.

In the future, Mistry has a goal to be a marketer for an assortment of companies. If Mistry were to be a marketer for music he would want to market for labels such as Interscope, Atlantic Records or Mad Rose Enterprises. If he were to be a food marketer he would want to market for franchises such as In N Out or Macaroni Grill. He is also open to marketing for traveling agencies, working for an NBA team and also has a dream to market for Nintendo if he were to go into video game marketing.

Being part of Raider Review, Mistry reports that he had a great time and says he misses  every part of it. His favorite memory being writing an article about ice cream with his friends.

“I feel like I am in a very great position to succeed,” Mistry said.

Gabryela Reynoso was a member of Raider Review for two years in her junior and senior years in 2021-2023. Her first year in the Raider Review she was a staff writer, while during her second year she was the HOSC section editor.

During her time at the Raider Review, Reynoso always found publishing her articles online cool because it felt professional. Raider Review was also her first step into journalism! If there were one thing she didn’t like about Raider Review, it would be its low popularity as not many people knew there was a journalism elective in the school.

Reynoso is now 19 years old and a student at Chapman University and Dodge college, Chapman University’s film program, in her sophomore year. She is majoring in broadcast journalism and documentary. Once she graduates from Chapman, she plans to search for a job in reporting at a news station.

“I’m excited to learn more and get more opportunities.”
