Silver Creek High School Wrestling senior night dual

SAN JOSE, CALIF – Silver Creek wrestling team hosted their senior night dual on Feb. 4 2025 at Silver Creek High school against Evergreen Valley High School.

Silver Creek held their senior night for 11 seniors, each senior received flowers and a goody bag provided by the seniors’ family. Additionally, coaches provided each senior with a banner, which led to their senior night ceremony , announcing their name and college or trade school they plan on attending and revisiting their favorite memory.

Luciana Rodriguez plans to attend Cal Poly to study architecture. Rodriguez is a senior with three years of experience, with an unforgettable memory of eating a DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE from Costco after taking first at BVAL. Rodriguez joined wrestling subsequence when her siblings got into a fight and had recommended wrestling to learn self-defense. Rodriguez said, “I was terrible at first, I had never really heard about wrestling before, overtime and hard-work improved my skills and ended the season achieving her goal of being a State Placer.”

Gilberto Rodrugez, whose experience has been fun, however comes with sacrifices. Rodriguez highlighted his first thoughts, “My thoughts were to open to learning, and now finishing, go out and wrestle and have fun.” Rodriguez’s college study field is Mechanical Engineering, and plans to attend SF State. Rodriguez’s last thought before his season ends is “go out wrestle and have fun.”

Dylan Nguyen, who plans to attend SJSu and major in Business Entrepreneurship. Nguyen had a very fun season, saying, “The sport is the toughest sport in my opinion, testing your mental skill; on the other hand I have learned a lot, and wrestling built the person I am today.” Nguyen’s highlighting his Biggest achievement, qualifying for High school’s toughest tournament, Fargo Nationals.”

Hung Vo, who plans to attend the University of Washington, and plans on majoring in biochemistry. Vo said, “The years I have been wrestling have been the best years ever, I created a lot of memories with my friends, and did many side quests together.” Vo first thought when joining wrestling was to become the best he could possibly be, now as a senior I just want to have fun, he was introduced to wrestling by his
