SAN JOSE, CALIF.—If you’re a student at Silver Creek with a friend’s birthday coming up but are unsure of what to get them, here are some trendy gift ideas to purchase or even create!
It could be a struggle finding out what they like when wanting to give it a surprise or you have no clue what to get. They could be homemade or store bought instead of plain simple gifts which could be something way more exciting.
“I love all gifts, even how little they are, but it means a lot, ” said Mary Ngo, a freshman at Silver Creek.
Do It Yourself, D.I.Y., gifts are always a good option, in case you didn’t have time to go to the store. You don’t need to have any of the fancy supplies, you could just use paper and coloring markers and scissors. Even if it’s something small it could have a big meaning and mean a lot to a person. They are also cute and convenient because it doesn’t involve something big. One of those things is writing a cute heartfelt letter for them. It could be well decorated with stickers afterwards or you could also handmade the letter. These are one of my favorite gifts to make and I think it is very convenient, cute and sentimental.
Another handmade gift that is absolutely adorable and is very creative is when people take photos in the photo booth or any photo strips. Starting off, you can make a cute photo booth out of paper like a card and glue the paper strips together and make it seem like when you pull it out, it prints out the photo which is very cute and aesthetic and they could look back and cherish the moments.
“I love giving gifts to my friends and family although sometimes I run out of time so I just buy something like stuffed animals.” said Aileen Nguyen, a freshman at Silver Creek high school.
Another idea and gifts you could get your loved ones and friends is stuffed animals, specifically Squish-mallow and Jelly-Cats because they are trendy and cute and are loved by many others. Squish-mallow and Jelly-Cats have surfaced all over the internet causing them to sell out a ton. Everyone could buy Squish-mallows at Costco, Target and Walgreens. Although Jelly-Cat on the other hand, it’s much harder to find because it is mostly sold out or hard to find but you could buy it on the website (https://us.jellycat.com/) or at Fiddlesticks store at 540 Hayes St.
