SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Cassie Paris; a Silver Creek High School senior, started her nail business nine months ago and is already showing tremendous success. 

Before starting her business Paris would frequently get her nails done at local salons and she would enjoy her time in the chair and then afterwards seeing her new fresh set, but it started becoming an expensive habit. She had the idea of starting to do her nails at home so that she would be able to save all that money she would spend. With the support and guidance of her boyfriend’s aunt who is licensed in the field, Paris was able to obtain helpful advice and recommendations to help her take off. 

Although the materials and time taken to learn the basics were very expensive and time-consuming, Paris does not regret getting started on her journey. Paris has gotten to know many people throughout the months that under normal circumstances she would not have gotten the chance to know. Clients that turned into friends makes Paris feel like she has built a strong connection between them instead of it being strictly business. Paris says, “What’s said in the nail room stays in the nail room”.

Additionally, Paris is home-based so she gets to work under her own rules and hours allowing for a flexible schedule that elevates her passion and reduces the pressure she would have if she worked under someone else’s conditions. Doing nails enables her to express her creativity and experiment with different colors, shapes, techniques, and designs. Paris can execute any design effortlessly no matter how intricate it may look. If there is a design she does not quite get the hang of, Paris makes sure she practices until she perfects it. 

For the future, Paris plans to relocate somewhere in the SoCal area in order to be closer to the college she will be attending. She will continue learning and adapting to the ever-changing nail trends while simultaneously maintaining high-quality and affordable prices. On top of moving and expanding, Paris hopes to one day be able to do celebrity nails or just people with a platform who would help her work reach a bigger audience and more recognition.
