SAN JOSE, CALIF. – As the holidays approach and summer comes to an end, it seems as if every artist is on tour right now, each night being sold out shows! Students here at Silver Creek have started to embrace the fall cozy weather, letting go of their summer spirits by attending the shows of some of their favorite artists.

Senior Sofia Vazquez paid $109 to attend the Clairo concert on Oct. 6, which was worth every penny for the unforgettable experience she had, healing her inner child. Clairo’s ability to sing softly without the need of auto-tune elevated the overall experience of the show since it demonstrated authenticity unlike other artists Vazquez has seen at concerts. Clairo’s mellow vibe contrasted the hyped environment of a typical concert. However, it was just as enjoyable all throughout the performance.

“I was most emotional when Clairo performed her song Flaming Hot Cheetos and Bags, because I used to listen to Flaming Hot Cheetos on repeat when I was in 7th grade, which felt so nostalgic hearing it live in person,” Vazquez says.

All of her old middle school memories flooded back to her when she heard the first note of “Bags.” She screamed at the top of her lungs as it felt so surreal hearing it in person and being in the same space as her. The electric guitar notes made the experience all the more special to her. The lyrics in this song, “Can u see me Im waiting for the right time, I can’t read you, but if you want, the pleasure is all mine,” sparked sentiment to her because its a message navigating the complexities and uncertainties of romantic relationships, particularly in the early stages all ideas she resonates with.

Senior Jayden Giang paid $75 to attend the Zedd concert on Oct. 13, despite the affordable price, the concert was still a memorable experience exceeding his expectations based on what he’s seen on social media.

Zedd’s use of visual effects like laser lights and smog machines elevated his overall experience. A Zedd concert experience is a good way of bidding farewell to summer and welcoming winter. The event provided a sensational feeling of adrenaline to its attendees creating a community-like feeling, with them jumping up and down and screaming at the top of their lungs. Zedd’s biggest hits “Clarity” and “Stay” were the highlights of the show as it made the crowd loud and excited, leaving the overall energy and culture of the show amazing.

“With summer ending I feel content knowing my last few days of summer ended on a positive note. I now am going into fall looking forward to the colder weather knowing that my summer consisted of nothing but fun and new experiences. I’m excited to see the tours that artists introduce as the holidays come up,” Giang says.
