Cheer along with our cheer team at the Homecoming game

SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Silver Creek’s cheer team will perform for the homecoming game this Friday, Sept. 27.

The cheer team has been working hard all season and putting on great performances despite the temporary struggle of not having a coach. Their cheers help the football team keep their spirits up and they encourage the crowd to do the same. The hard work they put in during practice is evident when we see how effortless their stunts look. This recent game is special to some of the team members because for the seniors it is the last homecoming game of their high school career. It is their day to have fun and look back at how much they’ve grown from when they first started. Let’s be there for them just as they have been there for us.

When asked how she felt about this being her last homecoming game, senior Leila Barrios said, “I feel sad I won’t be cheering anymore but happy because we hit everything.” Later she was asked what she would tell those thinking of joining the team, and what the pros and cons of joining are. She said, “You won’t regret joining it’s a great fun experience. Some pros about joining is that you get to make lots of friends and meet new people. Some cons are that you need to dedicate lots of time and effort.”
