Exciting Death Valley trip upcoming for Silver Creek

By: Isaiac Frausto

Silver Creek’s continual Death Valley trip is once again around the corner and what should the Silver Students of Silver Creek expect if they are going or who want to go?

Death Valley is something Silver Creek does every year which is an opportunity of a lifetime for some Silver Creek students and a not-so-well-received decision for other students. If you would like to sign up it is too late as the signups were filled on September 8th, and they are leaving November 9th.

Although this trip seems fun it does come at a price literally and figuratively. The total price to go was $300 which may seem like a lot but is a steal as you are still going for a whole week whereas anywhere else to go for a week would probably be in the thousands to pay. Another costly thing about going is being absent from school for a whole week so that would be difficult to do as you would have to make up a load of work but there is some students that are willing to do the work that they missed and just go for the experience and just make up the work.

There is 32 students who will be going to Death Valley. Angelina Galeon , a freshman at Silver Creek High School is happy to “experience new experiences” which is understandable as people don’t often do this so it’s nice to try something new. Since the class is going in November it is expected to actually be colder than hot and is expected to be 60 degrees or colder. If you are going to Death Valley then you should know that Wil Henninger is not the only teacher going as more have been invited and there will be parent chaperones that can go as well. The students that are going are pumped and excited and will be there for a whole week. The students, teachers, and parent chaperones are driving for around eight hours and a half. Since the drive is so long they have to leave at 3 a.m in the morning.
