The First Dance Of The 2024-2025 School Year, Homecoming, Welcomes All Students To Attend.

SAN JOSE, CALIF— Students of Silver Creek High School are buzzing with excitement for Sept. 28 to attend our first upcoming dance of the 2024-2025 school year with the “Once Upon A Dream: A Wish Upon The Stars” themed Homecoming dance, hosted in the Big Gym, courtesy of leadership and ASB.

Tickets will be sold at the student bank starting at $14 and be raised to $22 at the door. Started on Monday, Sep. 16, leadership students sold tickets next to the student bank. From $14 after Monday, it’s priced raised by $2 every two days. Final day to buy your tickets is Sep 27!

Be sure to attend Homecoming at the Silver Creek big gym, next to the P.E lockers, before 8 p.m., as doors are open from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m. on Sep. 28.The theme is “Once Upon A Dream: A Wish Upon The Stars”, inspired by the whimsical fairytale essence in Disney storytelling.

Leadership’s head commissioners and other students involved worked hard to make this event happen despite the absence of Peter Chu, the previous activities director. Thanks to them, Silver Creek High School is able to continue the tradition of our back to school spirit dance! The students of Leadership and Associated Student Body are hand-painting all of the props that will be featured, including banners, backgrounds, and props for the photobooth, so be sure to honor their hard work and take lots of pictures!

ASB and Leadership member, Hillary Huynh, class of 2026, responded,

“Our goal is to allow students to make high school memories, take a break from the stress of academics, and show Leadership that they should be proud of what they pulled together”.

Without Chu, the students of ASB and Leadership, along with various faculty members have struggled with coordination, communication, and overall organization. The responsibilities resulted on the shoulders of the students, “We mainly relied on Mr. Chu for communication with administration before, so it was definitely a struggle having to suddenly learn these new skills.” However, they have all stepped up and worked vigorously to ensure that this dance will be just as great for you all.

As the first dance of the school year is coming closer and closer, Huynh encourages the students to, “Remember to have fun! This is a representation of Silver Creek unity and celebration!”
