SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Warner Brothers recently released yet another Godzilla movie, called “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” worldwide over the Easter weekend.

Godzilla is a well known Japanese horror film character who is a giant monster like dinosaur who terrorizes cities. The original movie dating back to 1954, now is one of the most well known franchises in film history, even holding the Guinness World Record for the longest continuously running movie franchise. Kong, on the other hand, is a well-known monster who had been making appearances in the media since 1933, originating from America. The two massive characters’ first appearance together in a movie was in 1962, then becoming a fan favorite.

The new Godzilla movie had fans excited for yet another thrilling movie featuring the frightening giant Kong and the legendary Godzilla. Fans all around the world have been wanting to watch.

The movie not only excited fans, but it broke some expectations. It grossed over $136 million domestically and $367 million globally, already becoming the third most grossed film of the year behind “Dune 2” and “Kung Fu Panda 4.”

Nam Le, a student from SCHS, loves watching movies. When this new movie was announced, he was excited to watch it. “This was one of my favorite Godzilla movies, the plot was amazing as well.”
