SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Romance lovers, keep an eye out for the upcoming summer release of It Ends With Us movie!
This movie will be based on the book It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. She had written and published this book in early 2016. Long since then, the movie is now scheduled to be released!
The date will be June 21, 2024. It is important to know that Hoover wrote this book based on true and non true events. The real meaning behind the book, it is somewhat based off of her mother’s experiences with her mom’s marriage. Everything can be found at the end of this book, in the author’s notes.
Lily Bloom is a 23 year old girl who moves to Boston to start her business, where she unexpectedly meets a neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid. In which a spark begins to grow between them. However, he may not be the person she thinks he is in the end. In most books that turn into movies, the director usually makes slight changes to the plot. But it is said by the director that the plot will stay the same.
This book gained its fame from social media platforms. Being popular on TikTok and having a large amount of reviews. With a rating of 4.6/5, many say that it is one of the best books they have ever read! “I found this book through TikTok and after seeing so many controversial opinions, it made me want to see if I liked it for myself. I ended up finishing and enjoying the book!” says senior Jade Hernandez at Silver Creek High School.
About the author: Hoover is an American author who writes many novels in genres such as romance and young adult fiction. As of 2023, she has written a total of 26 books. She has written many great books with great reviews and some should be read in pairs. Her most popular, of course, It Ends With Us has a following read, It Starts with Us. She wrote those two books for the audience to read these characters’ stories, from different perspectives. Senior Adi Baltazar says, “I’ve read both of these books and in my opinion, I thought it was cool and interesting reading from both of the characters perspectives.”
Most importantly, this movie will be released not only in theatres, but streamed on Netflix as well. It is rumored that streaming won’t be on Netflix until late 2024. Also a senior, Monica Tran is an active fan of Colleen Hoover’s books. After finding out there will be a movie based off of one of her favorite books, she says “I’m really excited for this upcoming movie and I can’t wait to watch it!”
