SAN JOSE, CALIF.— Here is a recap of what happened during the San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl 54.

This years Super Bowl was actually quite low scoring until the second half. In the first half it was a defensive sided game with the score at halftime being only 10-3, Niners lead. Before halftime Niners Linebacker Dre Grenlaw had a freak non-contact injury, his foot got caught in the turf and he suffered a torn achilles, this was a huge blow for the 49ers. Although the stats may not show it, Brock Purdy played a great game and looked determined to win the niners this game. Running Back Christian Mccaffrey had his usual Offensve Player of The Year type of game posting 80 rushing yards on 22 carries, and eight receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown. Wide Receiver Jauan Jennings is another player who shined for the Niners, who had one 21 yard passing touchdown and four receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown. One more player to point out is Wide Receiver Chris Conley, although he only had one reception for 18 yards, he was great as a gunner in the punt return unit. He made many crucial tackles which led to the Chiefs poor starting field position.

The obvious standout player for the Chiefs was Patrick Mahomes, who had 333 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also had 66 rushing yards which was the most on the team. Travis Kelce had his usual dominant game posting 9 receptions for 93 yards. Another standout player on offense was Mecole Hardman, who had only three receptions but also had the game winning catch in the final seconds of overtime. A standout player on the defense for the Chiefs was second year Cornerback Trent Mcduffie who had three pass deflections, 2 tackles. Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Chiefs scored four field goals, with one of them being a Super Bowl record 57 yards. In total he made four field goals and one extra point.
