SAN JOSE, CALIF.— Manushree Desai is a new freshman at Silver Creek High School, and has strove to join sports, clubs, and be involved in Creek Activities!
Desai’s start at Silver Creek High School has been full of ups and downs, shaping her thoughts about high school. After a tough time at Chaboya Middle School, she was excited about the new opportunities high school promised.
Desai’s main focus is on a medical career, driven by her passion for helping people and making them feel better. This passion led her to join community service clubs related to medicine, like the Red Cross, Pre-Med, Interact, and more. One significant club for Desai is HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). Joining HOSA was a bit intimidating at first since she was new, but she was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming members. Desai exclaims, “Everyone is super nice and really inclusive to new members like me so that’s something I’m really glad about!”.
In HOSA, Desai plays a crucial role as the Activities Director, managing various important club events. This role gives her a chance to learn more about medicine and apply her knowledge. Being part of HOSA has not only expanded her understanding of medicine but has also allowed her to make friends who share the same interests. Traveling and competing with these friends bring Desai joy, reinforcing her commitment to helping those in need.

In summary, Desai’s early months at Silver Creek High School reflect a journey of learning and growth. Her experiences showcase her dedication to a medical career, emphasizing the power of passion, community, and knowledge in shaping her high school experience.
