Silver Creek High School Spooky Frankenstein Play

By Sophy Martinez

SAN JOSE, CALIF.— Silver Creek High School is holding a “Frankenstein” play for students and families to enjoy watching on Nov. 3. Many are very excited to watch the upcoming preview as all classes are invited to watch.

The play is inspired by Mary Shellys 1994 horror/sci-fi novel and film “Frankenstein”, which is about Viktor Frankenstein who created a creature from body parts that became very destructive and sought out revenge and a bride.

The drama students rehearse daily from reading the scripts, to learning the lines, and finally rehearsing in raider hall. When asked how it was like working backstage, drama student Vei S, answered, “A lot of people misplace or steal each other’s costumes.” They have to all be able to learn to work together or else the whole play falls apart. When collaborating together, “We work well together unless one of us drops a line and we have to redo the entire thing over.”

Posters all over the school promote the play with a small teaser. Many classes were able to get a sneak peak of the first 30 minutes of the play. Notably, the costumes, props, and acting were all excellent and well thought out.
