SAN JOSE, CALIF.- On Oct 3, 2023 the Major League Baseball playoffs began. The Los Angeles Dodgers were the only team from California to make the playoffs, and played a series of games against the diamondbacks but were eliminated from the playoffs.

Dodgers fans were in high spirits that they would  take another world series title this season. The Dodgers was the only team from California to secure their spot in the 2023 MLB playoffs. Teams Such as the San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Angels did not make it to the playoffs. The Dodgers first playoff game was on Oct. 7 2023 at Dodger stadium. They played against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The starting pitchers were Clayton Kershaw for the Dodgers and Merril Kelly for the Diamondbacks.   The Dodgers were defeated with the end scored being 11-2, Diamondbacks taking the win. They played again on Oct 9, 2023 and the Dodgers faced defeat with a score of 6-2 against the Diamondbacks. The starting pitcher for the Dodgers was Bobby Miller and Zac Gallen started for the Diamondbacks. The Dodger played again on Oct 11. And the Dodgers lost, eliminating them from the playoffs. The final recorded score was 4-2. The Diamondbacks moved on and are going to play a series of games against the Philadelphia Phillies.

 Baseball fans at Silvercreek expressed some of their opinions on the series of games played. When talking with Andy Tuong a students at silver creek high school and a Dodgers fan, after hearing about the Dodger being eliminated said “not gonna lie i didn’t think they were gonna get far” another student names Zion Toscano a self proclaimed Diamondback fan said “I only like the Diamondback this season because i feel like they have a good chance of winning the world series.”
