SAN JOSE, CALIF — Apple’s highly anticipated new iPhone 15 is set to launch at the company’s annual product event in Cupertino, California in Sept. 2023. As tech enthusiasts eagerly await its release the iPhone 15 is setting new standards for smartphones.

The starting price for a 128 GB iPhone 15 is around $799 before tax. The new features of the iPhone 15 include the Super Retina XDR which uses OLED technology.” The “Super” and “XDR” parts in the name mean that this display is exceptionally good at showing images and videos. It provides vibrant colors and high contrast.
OLED stands for “Organic Light-Emitting Diode.” Instead of using a big light behind the screen, like in regular TVs, each little firefly pixel in an OLED screen can glow by itself. When they all light up together, they create the pictures and videos you see on your screen.
The “XDR” stands for “Extreme Dynamic Range,” which means that it can display a wide range of colors and brightness levels, making it great for watching movies, games, and viewing photos. There’s thinner borders, rich color and support for dolby vision,” stated at the Apple event. The peak brightness outside is 2000 nits which is twice as bright as the iPhone 14. Nits are a unit of measurement to describe the brightness of a display use their custom dual ion exchange process for a new material and then polishing it with nanocrystalline particles to produce a new material for the back of the iPhone. Now, what makes these particles special is how they’re structured.
Inside these super tiny particles, the tiniest bits of matter are arranged in a very organized and neat way, like perfectly stacked Legos. This organized structure is what we call crystalline. Scientists and engineers use these tiny particles in all sorts of things, from making stronger materials for construction to creating more colorful and efficient screens on our devices. Which is then etched to create a textured matte finish to the iPhone 15. “iPhone 15 has a ceramic shield, tougher than any smartphone glass, and water and dust resistance,” stated at the Apple event. The frame of the phone uses 75% recycled aluminum and for the first time, they’re using 100% recycled cobalt batteries. Apple is using 100% recycled copper foil for the main logic board and mag-safe charger.
As for the camera they are recycled copper foil for the main logic board and mag-safe charger. As for the camera, they are using a 48MP, which also has a 26 mm focal length along with a quad pixel sensor which allows for 100% focus pixels for fast autofocus.
A 48-megapixel camera can capture high-resolution photos with a level of detail and clarity that is generally quite good. Using computational photography the sensor groups every four pixels together into a larger two-micron pixel for fantastic light capture.
Then their photonic engine takes the image that’s been optimized for light capture and combines it with a super high-resolution image for rich details. Another feature of the camera is their new 2x Telephoto option. You can zoom out or in for the perfect photo with optical quality. The 2x telephoto option always has continuous zoom for 4k cinematic mode.
Using the same chip as the iPhone 14 pro (A16 bionic chip) handles everything from computational photography to live voicemail transcriptions on the device. One more feature that is brand new is the new USB type-c charger port on the iPhone 15 which also has all-day lasting battery life. With this information, you can now decide if you want to purchase the new iPhone 15.
Michael said, “I enjoy the feel of the new iPhone. Compared to my iPhone 14 the back of the phone feels a lot different. And the phone is a lot more durable than my phone. I enjoy that the pictures are brighter and vivid. I’m more interested in buying one now that I’ve had some time to examine the phone.”
