SAN JOSE, CALIF. –This summer, as 2023 graduates are honored, we now take a spotlight into Achyut Chebiyam’s high school experience.
Before high school, Chebiyam describes himself as friendly but somewhat shy. He would be slightly intimidated when speaking to large groups of people. Now, as a high school Ssenior, Chebiyam has developed confidence and can easily converse with strangers and crowds of people. He believes that these skills will bring out the best in him as he takes on unknown challenges in high school.
From a young age, Chebiyam has been captivated by Physics, Biology, and Robotics. During high school, in order to advance his knowledge in these fields, he began conducting research. To add on to his ever growing STEM skillset, he began taking challenging college-level courses in these areas, solidifying his knowledge.

In order to actualize his passion for these subjects, he decided to pursue Engineering Physics. After a long and tense college application season, Chebiyam finally committed to UC Berkeley’s class of 2027. UC Berkeley has been ranked as one of the nation’s top institutions and has an esteemed physics and astronomy department.
Engineering Physics, the union of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering, uses the scientific method to develop new advances in Engineering Technology. The field is not confined to just one particular branch of science. It does, however, provide a lens for advancement in applied Physics. This subject is extremely challenging to study and requires significant commitment.
With a long and restful summer ahead of him, Chebiyam wishes to spend it with his friends and family. Furthermore, he has goals to complete his Eagle Project and write a research paper in Engineering Physics this summer.
When asked what he believes the future holds for him, Chebiyam says, “We shall see”.
