Huynh is in a variety of clubs, including being an officer for Key Club and the SCHS Vietnamese Student Association. Huynh enjoys participating in a variety of culture shows for VSA. Huynh has been the Silver Creek Key Club’s editor for the past two years, with a total of three years of club activity and is currently the Silver Creek VSA’s decorations commissioner, participating in the club for a total of 4 years.Huynh was determined to find something to take up her time over Quarantine her Sophomore Year of high school and had heard how great it was for her friends. Throughout her time participating in Key Club, she applied for a position on the Division Graphics Committee, where she was able to create mascot graphics for the clubs newsletter and made Instagram flyers. During the school year, Huynh applied to be the Key Club editor and got it, creating newsletters and publications for Key club. Huynh was then promoted to Division Public Relations Coordinator due to a vacant position and was the lead of the graphics committee team and delegated tasks to the other members. This year, Huynh took on the challenge as Key Clubs editor, designing the clubs website, creating flyers, club merchandise, and the division shirts, going through a full rebranding for the club. When asked about her more memorable experience in Key Club, she stated “It’s genuinely hard to choose one single best memory from Key Club. I was in Key Club for three years and I have been able to create so many “BEST” memories. One of the best memories I have is the bliss we all felt on the bus ride home from Fall Rally North 2021 at Six Flags. We had won the spirit rally and we were all listening to music and singing our hearts out on the ride home despite the long, exhausting day”. Huynh has committed to UC Berkeley for the upcoming Fall 2023 semester and is expecting to major in Data Science. Huynh was an early admit for UC Berkeley and was made a candidate for the Universities Regents and Chancellor’s Scholarship. Huynh initially became interested in UC Berkeley from a visit of the campus throughout the VISION Mentee Program, made available by UC Berkeley Vietnamese Student Association. Huygh was also compelled to commit to UC Berkeley as her cousins were Alumni, and hearing stories of their experiences influenced her decision. When asked about her decision to major in Data Science, Huynh explained “I was always interested in how browsers created targeted ads for users, predicting consumer behavior or how youtube’s algorithm recommends channels to viewers and over the summer before junior year I took statistics and I really enjoyed it and I learned more about machine learning in Computer Science Principles and in combination I figured that a major that was fit for my interest was data science and I wanted to pursue it”.
