SAN JOSE, CALIF.– Taylor Swift’s much anticipated tour ‘The Eras’ kicked off on March 17 with an unforgettable night and surprising donations to local food banks.

Swift opened her highly awaited ‘The Eras’ Tour on March 17 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. In celebration of the kick off, Glendale mayor Jerry Weiers announced that the city was briefly renaming itself to ‘Swift City’ for March 17 and 18. Swift also celebrated in her own way, dropping four previously unreleased songs at midnight on March 17.

The setlist for all locations and dates includes 44 songs throughout her nine albums, including re-recordings. During the three-hour show, the iconic singer-songwriter surprised fans with several iconic outfits that matched the songs she was performing.

Swift also quietly made sizable donations to local food banks along the tour trail. The artist made no social media posts boosting her actions. The Arizona Food Bank Network, a nonprofit organization, revealed to local media outlet azcentral that Swift had left a generous donation before her opening concert in the temporarily renamed Swift City. Terri Shoemaker, Vice president of External Relations at Arizona Food Bank Network, revealed that the singer-songwriter planned to leave a positive impact on the all communities of all the locations on her tour.

Shoemaker says, “It’s not every day that you get a call from someone who works in PR for Taylor Swift, so we were dubious at first, but happily, it turned out to be absolutely real.”

Following the two concerts in Glendale on March 17 and 18, Swift continued on her tour trail to Paradise, Nevada, where she similarly left donations to the nonprofit organization based in Southern Nevada, Three Square Food Bank.

The Three Square Food Bank twitter confirmed in a retweet, “We are thrilled to announce that @taylorswift13 has made a generous gift to Three Square, allowing us to provide thousands of meals to families and individuals struggling with hunger. Thank you to Ms. Swift for supporting our mission and local community.”

An anonymous Silver Creek freshman says, “I think it’s so sweet of her to use her influence and power for good, all while giving us these amazing shows!”

“The Eras” is set to end on Aug. 9, 2023, after multiple stops all over the country. International dates are yet to be announced. There are a total of seven dates in California, two at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on July 28 and 29, and five in SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Aug. 3-5, 8, and 9.
