SAN JOSE, CALIF. –  The television adaptation of “Daisy Jones and the Six” written by author Taylor Jenkins Reid, has finally happened. It was recently released on March 3, 2023 on the platform Amazon Prime. 

Based on the best selling novel, the limited musical drama series details the rise and fall of a renowned rock band. The 1970s band, Daisy Jones and the Six, were on top of the world and had risen to enormous fame. After a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits, leaving the world confused. Now, decades later, the band members agree to reveal the truth, a story of how an iconic band imploded at the heights of its fame. 

The book was uniquely structured as the script of a music documentary with band members reflecting on their glory days and hidden truths 20 years later. The show followed suit with having the show go back and forth between the interviews and the storytelling. 

“Daisy Jones and the Six ” is filled with tons of 70s music and nostalgic feeling throughout the show. It also delivers all-new music from the book that the band wrote and even other characters that fans will be sure to love. Anyone can stream and download the music, including the album “Aurora” that “Daisy Jones and the Six” wrote, on streaming platforms like Spotify or Amazon Music. 

A stellar cast has come together to form The Six. Riley Keough,who is Elvis Preseley’s granddaughter, stars as Daisy Jones and opposite her is “The Hunger Games’’ star Sam Clafin who plays the role of Billy Dunne. The rest of the band includes Suki Waterhouse as keyboardist Karen Sirko, Will Harrison as lead guitarist Graham Dunne, Sebastian Chacon as drummer Warren Rhodes and Josh Whitehouse as bassist Eddie Roundtree. Timothy Olyphant will also star as the band’s manager, Rod Reyes, and Billy’s significant other, Camila, will be played by Camilia Morrone. 

The rights for the book were quickly taken by Reese Witherspoon and her production company Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon’s production company has also produced other tv adaptations such as “Little Fires Everywhere” and “Where the Crawdads Sing”.

The book is surrounded by lots of theories on how it was inspired by Fleetwood Mac. Many are convinced that the main love interest in the book, Jones and Dunne, are inspired by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. It is alluded that the romance between Jones and Dunne is meant to reflect the tortured romance of Nicks and Bunkingham. 

“I personally feel that the show was good and there’s differences and similarities from the book but I do think they should have included certain scenes from the book,” stated Alexia Orona, a freshmen at Silver Creek.
