SAN JOSE CALIF. – Pop sensation Taylor Swift is releasing her new album “Midnights” on October 21 on all streaming platforms.
Swift announced her tenth studio album during the MTV Music Awards on August 28 when she won a VMA for “All to well.” Swift’s new album has already been filled with easter eggs, merch, even title reveals and lots of fan theories.
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching– hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve we’ll meet ourselves,” Swift wrote in the caption on a first-look post for the album.
Swift has revealed the song titles of her 13 tracks of the album on social media. At midnight, Swift chooses the order randomly from a cage with bingo balls. She calls this series “Midnight’s Mayhem With Me.”
So far the song title names are Lavender Haze, Maroon, Anti-hero, Snow on the Beach, You’re on Your Own Kid, Midnight Rain, Question…?, Vigilante Sh**, Bejeweled, Labyrinth, Karma, Sweet Nothing and Mastermind. Swift revealed that “Lavender Haze” is connected to her relationship with Joe Alwyn and all the weird rumors they had to ignore.
A fan theory has been going around that the date of the album was purposely placed on Kim Kardashian’s birthday. Many pointed out that the date, October 21, is Taylor’s lucky number, 13, added up. Another thing fans have noticed is that the album’s name is in other Swift’s songs. For example, her song “22” has the lyrics “For breakfast at midnight.”
A cool feature in the vinyl versions of the three special editions and standard versions of the albums is when combined, it can be transformed into a clock. “Taylor Swift has grown a lot since her last few albums and so I’m really excited to find out through these new songs, and maybe relate with some of her experiences.” stated by Summer Jaquez a junior at Silver Creek High School.
