SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Silver Creek’s annual Club Rush event begins on September 19 and runs to September 22. In addition to the regular clubs Silver Creek sponsors, there are over 30 new clubs opening to the student body.
Here are the most talked about new clubs if you don’t know what they’re about:
Cosmetology Club: Their purpose is to relieve students from stress and help them find out what makes them more confident. This club will provide lessons on makeup, skincare, hair care, fun hands-on activities like making your own lip gloss and assisting you on your journey of self-expression.
SCHS Crochet Club: If you love to crochet or don’t know how to, but want to learn, this club is perfect for you! SCHS Crochet Club creates a relaxing space for students to crochet for friends, family or themselves. Students will also be creating pieces to donate and gift to others. Even if you have no clue how to crochet, this club will provide resources to beginners.
SCHS Girls Who Lift: To all the girls who are interested in lifting and using weights or afraid to start, come join Girls Who Lift! A safe and comfortable space where girls can come together to lift weights, learn about the concepts of working out and nutrition, while also having fun by crafting treats together like Rice Krispies, fruiting arrangements and smoothies.
Investigator’s Club: Interested in true crime, detective work or forensics? Investigator’s Club is just the right match! Students would solve fake murder cases with a group of students that would bring students to work on the case together. These fake murder cases would provide pictures, transcripts, fingerprints, clues and more.
Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA): DECA prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA would focus on developing business, design, and technology skills by connecting, collaborating, building, competing and growing.
Legal Studies Club: This club provides students who have an interest in law and who want to explore this field more. It will provide a safe space for students to freely discuss their passion for legal studies. This year they planned to host activities such as mock trials, lawyer guest speakers and viewing cases in local courtrooms.
While there are tons more new clubs at Silver Creek, these are just a few new clubs that created curiosity and popularity amongst the students. Be sure to have an eye out for these new clubs when Club Rush starts next week!
