SAN JOSE, CALIF. — On Saturday, Jan. 15 2022, the well known couple, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra welcomed their first baby girl via surrogate.
Married since Dec. 2018 and fans have been asking when the couple planned to start a family. In response, Chopra told a reporter from The Times, “I do want children. As many as I can have.” In an interview for Vanity Fair’s Feb. 2022 issue, right before her official announcement, she shared that children are “a big part of [their] desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”

Chopra and Jonas finally confirmed this in an Instagram post on Jan. 4 captioned, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family.” Tagging her husband in the post, Chopra concluded with, “Thank You so much.”
Now 29 and 39, Jonas and Chopra tied the knot on Dec. 1, 2018 in the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India. The wedding was small, roughly 255 guests, but lasted 5 days. Over the course of the week, they had two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Christian. To honor both of their cultures, they incorporated different parts of each to blend during each celebration.
Throughout both the celebrations, Jonas commented that he was surprised to see “how similar the different religions actually are and the ceremonies themselves have a lot of heart.” He said, “That allowed us to really connect with our families and with each other, which is the most important thing.”
