SAN JOSE CALIF. — Kanye West is scheduled to release his newest album “Donda 2” on Feb. 22 through GOOD Music.
This album will be the sequel to his previous album “Donda”. “Donda 2” is the upcoming eleventh studio album by West and the first sequel to an album by West. It began recording in Sept. 2021. West wants “Donda 2” to be played at births, graduations, weddings, and funerals. West posted a picture of the album cover with 2/22/22 on it indicating the release date. West has announced a “Donda 2” listening party in Miami on Feb. 22.
Steven Victor, the founder of Victor Victor Worldwide and former COO of West’s GOOD Music, told Complex that West’s upcoming album is a “masterpiece”. West named the album after his late mother, Donda West. West’s mother passed away on Nov. 10, 2007. West is working with Marilyn Manson on the album. West’s collaborator Digital Nas told Rolling Stone that Manson is “frequently in the studio working with West.”
West is giving up his phone until “Donda 2” is finished according to a video on Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif’s Instagram story. “I don’t have a phone until two, twenty-two, twenty-two,” West said happily. “My focus is taking my kids to school and finishing the album.” West has been seen in the studio with Travis Scott, Asap Rocky, Blueface and more. West removed Kid Cudi from “Donda 2” over Pete Davidson. “Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you-know-who,” West wrote.
West posted on his Instagram story that explained the once in a century release date. “According to the stars, the United States is finally getting a spiritual makeover with its first-ever Pluto Return on Feb. 22, 2022. Astrologically, a Pluto return is when the heavenly body returns to the same position in a birth chart where it was when the chart began.” “Donda 2” has had a lot of controversy leading to the release date.
