SAN JOSE CALIF.- The new Marvel movie, Spider Man: No Way Home will drop in theaters on Dec. 17. The cast stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and more.
Holland says that Spider Man: No Way Home is “three different generations coming together” and also stated it was “the best Spider Man film that we’ve ever made.” But, he insists that previous Spider Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are not involved. Maguire took the role of Spider Man from Spider Man 1-3. Garfield was in The Amazing Spider Man 1 & 2. Holland said in an interview with Total Film,”People don’t believe me when I say that [Maguire and Garfield] are not coming back. But people are going to believe me at some point.”
This could possibly be Holland’s last feature as Spider Man. According to director Jon Watts in an interview with Empire, this film is essentially Spider Man: Endgame. As many Marvel fans know, that was the final appearance of several popular characters. A Collider interview stated that Holland’s contract only includes three movies. Holland replied to this by saying, “If they want me back I’ll be there in a heartbeat.”
This movie is a sequel to the 2017 movie, Spider Man; Homecoming and the 2019 movie, Spider Man: Far From Home. In the film, Parker asks Dr. Strange to help make his identity as Spider Man back to a secret, which leads to the multiverse breaking open. In the previous film, Spider Man’s identity was leaked to everyone as Parker. A fake video was made by Mysterio that showed Spider Man killing Mysterio.
In an interview with Total Film, Holland says that fans will be surprised to find out that No Way Home isn’t a fun film. “It’s dark and it’s sad, and it’s going to be really affecting,” Holland said. “You’re going to see characters that you love go through things that you would never wish for them to go through.” Holland went on to say that he was happy to explore this new side of Peter Parker, as this character is optimistic when it comes to being able to fix any situation that arises.
