Drama Presents: The Great Gatsby

“The show must go on!” Is a phrase embraced deeply when it comes to the Silver Creek Drama department. Although we may not be in person to see our performers on stage, The Great Gatsby by Drama will be available to view on Patreon by the end of February! Exact release date coming soon.

Previously, Drama has already produced two shows, both of them offered on Patreon as podcast-radio-like productions, one being the Wizard of Oz, and The Heart That Loved Too Much. Both are still available on the website. “Admission” or the subscription to their content is $3 a month for students and $5 a month for the general public. For those who want extra perks, they are also offering a VIP tier that includes not only access to episodes, but also, early access, a thank you message, interviews with performers, and a sticker!

For this year’s take on the American Classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, we will be seeing students in full costume and makeup acting as they would be on stage. However, all of this will completely be over zoom, “The past two productions that Drama has put on this year were one radio play (meaning that the actors were not seen, and there were no visuals) and one short play (with very minimal blocking and such). However Gatsby is going to be so much different than anything we have done this year!” said Lilianna Marcoida, class of ‘21.

Aayush Pagaria, class of ‘21, expresses his anticipation and eagerness for the challenge, “I’m really excited to portray the role of Gatsby! While the distance makes theatre different, getting to rehearse and perform virtually gives us the experience of doing what we love in unexpected circumstances.”  There will be a total of nine episodes at approximately 5-10 minutes for you to enjoy when released.
